Get a little bit intimate with the crew here at The indigo project! Each edition, we’ll feature one of the gang in our fortnightly Spotlight so you can get to know us all a little better. Allow us to introduce Hanna…
What do you do at The indigo project?
I am a provisional psychologist and soon to be yoga teacher – My work with clients focuses on how we can access mindfulness to deal with the problems that arise in our lives and how we can change unhelpful thoughts and behaviours. I’m also managing our social media platforms and developing programs for our new space, where I will also be teaching yoga, too!
Describe yourself in three words.
What is your favourite indulgence?
My favourite indulgence at the moment is probably yoga. My partner keeps telling me that every second word I say is ‘yoga’. This is closely connected to my obsession of checking further yoga training courses that I want to attend. I am truly excited to have found a form of connecting my body and mind while keeping physically and mentally fit. Yoga completely changed my relationship to myself, it is something I can take with me wherever I go and I feel truly passionate about sharing it with other people.
Describe your perfect weekend.
I would have all my brothers and sisters, my best friends and my partner coming together – or maybe one weekend with each of them. We would camp somewhere out in nature, make a big campfire (I love being the fire master), sing songs, dance and look at the stars.
How do you use Mindfulness in your life?
I try to incorporate mindfulness into whatever I am doing. It can be anything from enjoying a meal, going for a walk or engaging in a conversation with my best friend. My attempt is to especially attune myself to my clients in a mindful way to offer them the best possible assistance I can give. Practicing Yoga and meditation on a regular basis helps me to stay calm and make conscious decisions in an often fast paced world around me.
