Get a little bit intimate with the crew here at The indigo project! Each edition, we’ll feature one of the gang in our fortnightly Spotlight so you can get to know us all a little better. Allow us to introduce Michelle…
What do you do at The indigo project?
I’m currently a psych intern at The indigo project, I manage our social media platforms, administrative tasks and advertisements, and assist with the development of upcoming projects. I am currently applying for my provisional registration and will start seeing clients later this year.
Describe yourself in three words.
What is your favourite indulgence?
Nature! I love being amongst nature whether it be a walk through a park/garden, a swim at the beach or watching the sunset by the water with a friend. I’m obsessed with flowers and pretty much all plants. I currently have a garden of my own where I grow a variety of herbs and veggies, and when I can finally afford a home with enough space I plan to have an incredible garden filled with all my favourite plants and flowers.
Describe your perfect weekend.
My perfect weekend would involve going away with my friends somewhere secluded amongst nature near a forest, lake or the ocean. We would lay in the sunshine and swim all day. Then after watching the sunset and cooking some awesome dinners, we’d spend the remainder of our nights, drinking, laughing, listen to music, dancing and possibly even go for a midnight swim under a full moon.
How do you use Mindfulness in your life?
Well I can be a bit of a stress-head sometimes and I don’t work very well under stress! So mindfulness helps me to clear my mind and relax so that I am able to focus on the task at hand rather than getting caught up in my own thoughts. Essentially, it helps me to observe my thoughts without judgement so that they no longer disrupt my work. Not only does mindfulness help to reduce my overall stress levels but it also helps be to see the beauty in the world and notice the little things that make me smile.
